What Is A Good WoW Rogue Leveling Build?

I just rerolled a new character. I got tired of playing my Mage and wanted to try out a Rogue. What is a good Rogue leveling build to use?

The three talent trees that rogue players can choose from are:

  1. Assassination
  2. Combat
  3. Subtlety

Rogues rely on mainly melee damage when they fight, and each of the different talent trees holds abilities that play to a rogue's strengths. But, rogues can also choose from different builds, depending on their playing style and what their focus is in the game. Dagger, sword, fist weapon, and mace builds all can be attained for rogue players.

If your focus is mostly leveling, there are plenty of great dagger builds that will help you in your questing. Within the dagger build, you will find the following: 1.Mutilate – which is great for PvE and raids. This will help more if you have a dual-wield specialization, so you can increase your white damage. 2.Combat daggers – this is a great PvE build that will do some extremely high raid damage. This also depends heavily on the Backstab and Slice and Dice for most of the damage it causes. Of course, this all depends on the speed of your dagger.

There are also Seal Fate and Shadowstep builds, but they are mostly for the PvP combat players.

You can also go with combat swords as a great PvE and leveling build, as this is one of the best “boss damage” builds today. The reason that most consider this the best boss damage build is that your offhand sword will get an extra attack from your chosen sword specialization, which means that you gain an extra main hand attack. This does more damage overall. Make sure that you get a fast offhand sword so you will gain more damage in that extra attack.

The fist builds will help on the offhand items, but you are probably better going with swords or daggers. The mace builds are geared more to the PvP player, but that isn't to say that you can't choose them if you prefer them.

While there are all kinds of different things that you can do to help build your rogue for leveling, and many different opinions on which one is best, it all comes down to personal preference in the end. Those that prefer certain weapons will always seem to do better with them.
