How Do I Make 5,000 Gold Quickly For My Epic Flying Mount?

Posted on October 30, 2007 by Apadwe

I just hit level 70 and have my slow flying mount. I want to get an epic flying mount as quickly as possible but how in the world (of warcraft) can I make 5,000g in order to get it?

When most World of Warcraft players found out that they had to cough up 5,000 WoW gold for their Epic flying skill and mounts, they were dumbfounded. How could anyone come up with that much money? Some resorted to very desperate measures. Many risked getting banned and purchased the gold from a website at considerable cost. Some cheated. Some stole. One woman even sold her body for it. How can you get the 5,000 gold you need without going to these drastic measures?

Most agree that one of the quickest and easiest way to earn a lot of gold is doing quests. Daily repeated quests were added to the game just for this purpose. Someone who has not purchased their Epic flying skill has six daily repeatable quests available to them. Doing these will take about one hour and earn you nearly 70 gold per day. If you hit level 70 without completing all available quests in the game, you may find it more fun, interesting, and productive to do those quests instead. While questing, it is good to save all the gray armor and weapons that you happen to pickup and sell them to a vendor. Also, if you do a quest that yields some kind of armor or weapon reward that you are not going to equip, take the time to look up which choice will earn the most gold from a vendor. Using these tactics it is quite possible for a simple quest to yield 20 gold.

Above all, earning 5,000 gold for your Epic mount skill takes time, patience, and dedication. With those things you will be able to do it with as little pain as possible.

Nice tips, been doing that forever but I can't never pass 1000g lol. Raiding, Repair, Gems up new gears and enchants. Also spending for flasks and potions mats.

Lately I'm trying to level a warlock for farming.

should be simple enough. if you have problem with spending your vast funds without thinking (like me), then try this. try making a bank toon to keep your excess gold on and to handle all your auction house needs (this eliminates the cost of going back to your major city of choice). using the "out of sight, out of mind" theory, you wont see your fortune piling up, and should be able to reliably avoid spending all your gold on useless items. this avoids the needs of spending the gold to get back to wherever you were (30 copper to mail something, over 50S to fly to said farming location). there is normally a mailbox near where the flight master happens to sit, and it may take a bit of time to send your items over (2.3 helped by allowing up to i think 5 items to be sent via mail), but it will actually save time due to the fact that by the time you would normally land and head over to the AH, you would already be back to the farming field getting [insert item farmed here] that much faster. using this method and farming large brilliant shards, i can easily crack 100+ gold an hour (i farm BRD, UD strat, DM, LBRS and to an extent UBRS). i hope this information helps you, as in less than a week i have boosted my coffers from 50G to 1130G, and when i finish my wintersaber grind, i'll be going gung-ho and getting a lot of gold.

note: i am a lvl 70 rogue in tier 5 gear, some of the instances that i can solo are impossible to those in blue, as i tried doing strat when i first hit 70 (was mostly blues and greens) and got reminded of exactly how weak my gear was. let your gear tell you what you can farm.

blues n greens - stick to things like dire maul and ST

dungeon set 3 - if you can heal yourself or are a pet class, BRD and LBRS can be added to the list, paladins can try to solo strat at this time if they feel like experimenting

kara epic - you can add scholo into the list, and to a degree most of strat. i would advise staying away from cannon master at this point, and if you cannot stealth, you may have a hard time.

SSC epic - you can now have UBRS and UD strat added to the list here. take note that you NEED 3 people to do UBRS, as that is what is required to summon the first boss (and thus open the door). most DPS classes can rout through here with fair ease, so you dont need a healer, it is just a nice thing to have.

TK epic - all the lvl 60 and below instances become easier, you can think about farming blood furnace and ramparts on normal mode.

hyjal epic - about the same as TK epic, things are just a bit easier

BT epic - if you are a dps class and cannot farm ramps or BF by this time, you are doing something incredibly wrong.

the answer to getting 5k g is quite easy have a 375 gathering prof, i have 375 mining…i sell stacks of adamantite ore for 22g a go, fel iron and eternium i always make into felsteel bars (8-13g each dependsing on time of week and AH) and khorium bars for 70g a stack aswell as a bagfull of gems/primals for every 2 bags of ore, ive been making about 1100g a week just mining for 90mins a day, fair enough its boring but i generlly put on some good music and read a book while flying from node to node :P

In addition to some of the great posts here, I'm surprised no one has mentioned grabbing Auctioneer or Auctioneer Advanced (from http://auctioneeraddon.com) and mixing in auction house flipping into the mix. I have low- and mid-level alts that can make anywhere from 50 - 200 gold a day just from buying bargains at the auction house and selling them for market value (or a little below for quick sell).

And I know I could make more if I understood some of the markets for mats a bit better.

To do well with making mass amounts of gold in the auction house, these are some of my guiding principles:

1. Buy what you know
2. Use Auctioneer to scan frequently
3. Use the Auctioneer search functionality to find bargains
4. Scan markets you know are hot for bargains Auctioneer might miss
5. Take risks - this contradicts #1, but you rarely loose money and it tends to be a great learning experience on what items you can make a ton of gold one…and which to stay away from

When flipping you are basically buying two types of items: gear and mats. For gear, the twink market for battlegrounds is very strong. That means looking for bargains on gear that are for any level ending in "9" starting at 19 (19, 29, 39, 49…). On the mats side, focus on those materials that are used in a LOT of recipes. When in doubt look to http://wowarmory.com and do a search on the item you are contemplating on. If you only see a couple recipes - skip it.

Oh, and by using Auctioneer there are a number of hot keys that make posting auctions A LOT faster so you are in and out.

I agree with Og! If you have, let's say 500g, to start with - it's easy to earn 5000g in a couple of days with Auctioneer.

In addition to Og's post, if you are an enchanter, combine his idea with enchanting/disenchanting for profit, and yes, Enchantrix is a must to make the most out of this. Start a payroll (few bits of gold, it takes money to make money in this sense, more is better), scan AH for generally high level greens-blues, you might possible strike a good deal.

Stick with a medium, you should spend no more than x amounts of gold on certain greens or blues, stay with a certain buying range (no more than 3g on greens, 10g on blues, whatever), find what the items can disenchant to.

If they are worthwhile and generally more valuable than the item itself, and you are more than likely to get higher quality enchanting materials, go for it (sticking to the medium), and you just might be able to sell the disenchanted materials higher than the original product was!

For rogues, pickpocketing in higher level instances (prefer to do this with all gear that has durability taken off, yes, naked, to avoid repairs, don't rez at spirit healer), before TBC I used to pickpocket Blackrock Depths, if you have a shadowforge key, and be at least lv 60, you can make 30g/hr minimum w/o even trying (that was my average), only use gear if it gives you + to movement speed (use speed enchants for better results).

I find the best way to possibly Get 5,000 gold is Simply Farming motes Do daily's then go farm motes with some luck you can get 200g and hour Such as farming in Terokkar Forest For Primal water On my Server there changing prices every day there needed alot ussualy there average price is 30g sometimes they have went too 40g but always check the price before putting them in AH as you might not sell them this worked for me it took 2 and a half weeks of only playing maybe 2-3 hours a day I hope this helps someone :)
