Auctioneer is a great addon to have if you want to make money. Farming whelps I haven't had luck with. Just keep stuff from heroics (if your 80) that are boe and sell them at AH i made 115g off of a crappy helm. Get in good with Guilds, yes even other than yours, if you have a gathering profession. On my server I was in good a few different guilds that all worked together, yes i was guildless, and they were always in need of ore and bars for the bank. many times you can arrange a farm and deliver schedule if you can reach large enough quantities. I was delivering in lots of 100 and was easily turnign a few gold each on the higher level bars/ores. granted not as much as the auction house but definitely more steady and no posting costs. Another untested idea. go get all the mats you would likely need to power level a profession, and bank it. hit the trade channel and advertise the mats are for power leveling a profession. many people would be more likely to buy the lot if they knew its was all there in one purchase. all this boils down top advertiseng. make your product sound enticing and people will pay. don't be afraid to work with people and get a business agreement going. I personally have a lvl 77 pally and i get all my armour off of quests, and the armour is better than the stuff in the AH. My advice : Buy low, sell high, and sell armours between levels 60-70! The best way I found was to Mine ore & then do some instances save anything that will sell & then do quests. I did that everyday and I got my money pretty quick also even fishing for deviate fish gets you some good money they sell for about 25g a stack.Another thing you can do is if your high enough with good gear you can run people threw low level instances.
