What Is A WoW Druid's Role In The Warsong Gulch Battleground?

Posted on December 3, 2007 by Apadwe

I'm looking for a new class to just PvP with, especially for Warsong Gulch (WSG) (that's my favorite battleground) and I was wondering what a Druid's role is for that specific battleground?

For a druid in the Warsong Gulch battleground, your job will more than likely be as the flagbearer. While this is a very important role, it also makes you the main target to the opponent. So, if you are a druid in Warsong Gulch, and you are chosen as the flagbearer, then you can expect to draw every enemy player's fire, as well as those friendly players who can help protect you.

Since the flagbearer is the numero uno target here in WSG, you will need to be completely sure that you can carry the flag and survive. Flagbearers need to be able to survive their run through with the flag, and since druids can take on animal forms (especially cat and bear form), this is why they are perfect to play this role. While in an animal form, a druid gains speed and armor or stamina, which makes it easier to run and get away from enemy players if they attack you.

Druids should train to become the flagbearer before heading into Warsong Gulch and taking on this role. Find a friend or friendly player who is a druid and run with them to learn what you need to watch for, and skills you need to master, so you can become one of the best druids in WSG.

Druids make awesome flag bearers. I play Warsong quite a bit (Hunter - woop!). A friend and fellow guildie has a Druid that is always going after the flag. And he's awesome at it. It's funny because he's the only Druid I've seen that takes the role as the FC. I think that's because it's an intimidating role. It's like returning punts in football - you are the #1 target, everyone wants a piece of you and they're bringing the pain train to you as fast as they can.

Reminds me of the chat from a battleground noob who picked up the flag for the first time. It went something like…

"I didn't know what it was so I grabbed it…I'll never do THAT again."

Being a druid on blood gulch is hard. I'm always the number 1 target even if I'm not carrying the flag. Still It's funny to see the chat when I get the flag and my team realizes that I'm only level 12, and somehow sneaked by everyone.

in my own nooby opipinion i would say a druid would make a good flag bearer, with thier speed abilitys it is easy to get in and out with out stress, although being the flag bearer would make you the main target for the enemy.
