What Is The Best Collection of WoW Addons?

I just started using WoW addons and I have fallen into downloading and installing tons of them. It’s kinda like an addiction. Some I have found useful and others I have not. I was wondering what you thought were the best addons that can be used together.

I know exactly how you feel. I, myself, was caught up in that trap for a long time it seemed. Trying out tons of new addons and yet not quite finding ones that I was happy with. Luckily I eventually found out what I believe are the best WoW addons that will help you out the most.

The first addon on my list is Auctioneer. I do a whole lot of buying and selling items on the Auction House and this is a vital must have tool. It tells you cool information like price history of items and tons of other stuff.

The second addon that I use every time I play World of Warcraft is Titan Panel. This is really a “collection” of different addons put together and is, in my opinion, the best WoW addon collection. If you are really new to using addons I would recommend you install this one first just to see what it can really do for you.

I also use the Cartographer addon which is a map addon. It does all kinds of cool things with the map as well as marking the locations of vendors, different herb spots and mining spots as well. It also tells you what instances are in the area and what level you will have to be in order to go there.

The other map addon I use is called Atlas. The cool part about this map addon is it will show you maps of instances so you won’t have to rely totally on your memory when going through an instance and it will also let you know where to go if you have never been in that instance before.

These are the four main addons that I use together everyday I play WoW. They have made a lot of things easier for me and hopefully these WoW addons are ones that you are looking for and will help you out as well.

I have been searching today, and with my experience I came with the following addons.

    **Adviceable**
    - Titanpanel (some extra info and easyness) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/618/
    - Itemrack (to make item sets) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/1482/
    - Auctioneer (for easy selling / auctioning) –> http://wow.tentonhammer.com/index.php?module=TTHUIRepository&func=displayI&pinUIID=58
    - Flightmap (to see on the map for each zone where you can fly to) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/638/
    - MapNotes (making it possible to put notes on the world map and Atlas) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/4116/#files
    - Atlas (to see a map of the instance, and its bosses) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/354/
    - AtlasLootEnhanced (to see the loot of bosses) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/2983/

    **Optional**
    - MapGatherer (to remember location of herbs and mining spots) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/24/
    - HealBot (for creating combo’s in healing and buffs, and much more) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/3802/
    - Recount (a dps meter, to see damage done by you and your party members) –> http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/8840/

I didn’t choose for Cartographer as I read on curse-gaming.com that this addon is giving a lot errors and trouble lately… If it didn’t I would definatly want to use this one (reading all its cool features).

Nice list! Oh and don’t forget Omen, especially if you are raiding. It is a better coded threat meter than KTM and uses less memory to operate.

    You can download it here:

  5. random says:

i say pawn so u dont gotta decide whats better u can set it up

  6. Fello Gamer says:

Trust me ull Love it :)

two of my favourite addons are:
one bag – it shows all of your bags in one bag
Quest helper – this is a awesome add on it tells you everyhing you need to know about the quests you have started, the other good thing is it won’t show quests that theres no way you can do, it also tells you how old it thinks it will take you to complete that quest.

you can get these addons and more at:
    http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/9924/

  8. Maldrion says:

IMHO the best addons (especially for warlocks) are necrosis, DOTimer, servitude, smart buff/debuff, cartographer, lightheaded/doublewide, WIM, auctioneer classic, skillet, autoprofit, baggins, pitbull/xperl, Trinity2, mobinfo2, along with a few others. 8-)

  9. lawlawl says:

As a holy paladin and a miner/herbalist, I use Gatherer, Healbot, AtlasLoot, Decursive, any healing meter you can find, ***OMEN***

  10. Stunherald says:

Deadly Boss Mode or Big Wings is a MUST! for all raiders out there. they are so f**king imba

  11. hots says:

i tend to change my addons. using a set for lvling and a set for raiding on my main and a set for pvp. really easy to use and do, just makes life easyer.
all u g2 do is collect all ur addons in one file (obviosuly unzip them first) then split them in2 3 seperate files. when u need the required addon set drag it into the wow addon file and hey presto 3 sets of easy addons.
however imo there r several addons no one should go without. these r :

PEARL (awsome interface nothing i have found beats it so far)
OMEN (or at least a threat meter. not essential at low lvls but is a must when raiding. alternitivly c what threat meter ur guild uses.)
QUEST HELPER (this addon is one of a kind and priceless. dont rely need at 70 but a must when lvling.)
TRINITY BARS (this addon is awsome for those extra side bars as u can edit where u want them to go and u can chose how many bars or slots u want. Trinity also has an amazing key binding system much easyer 2 use than the original blizzard one.
BAGNON (all bags in one panel saves time and effort instead of searching throguh all ur bags 1 at a time looking for an item)
ATLAS (this is great for instances and means you dont have to descover areas on maps. works well with quest helper.)
GATHERER (only really eny use if ur a miner or herbalist. however if u r saves u hours of flying or riding around looking for herbs)

I dont really suggest cartographer because its cords system does not really work we with cords on websites like wow head etc.

there r a few other addons that r nice to have like titan panels and auctioneer but these r not vital.

Deadly boss mob ( the latest version) will only work if u r party or raid leader so is pretty usless if u r nither, however it is essential for every raid leader to have it without a shade of dought.

Hope this clears things up a bit :)
(these r my own personal opinions so eny suggestions r more than welcome :P )
(all addons i have r downloaded from curse)

    happy ganking

Sorry quick edit on that last post :) posted it l8 couple of nights ago and just reread it and i have written down the wrong addon under ATLAS.

Atlas is infact a great addon that shows you all possiable loot for that instance and boss, brilliant for planning where to go and what to aim for ^^

  13. draneii says:

i tried quest helper and although it is very gd i fink that if you have tomtom and lightheaded put together thats a rele gd combo better than quest helping i think

  14. Mark says:

OneBag(Exllent)and Bongos 2 and 3 (WAY FUCKING AWSOME ACTIONBAR)

  15. Scott says:

    If your a healer: healbot

Standard: Atlasloot, TomTom, Trinity Bars, Tourguide, WoWEcon, Quest Helper

    Other Addons I would reccomend:
SimpleMp3 (for listening to music while questing or grinding)
    Omen
    X-Perl
    ArcHud

  16. Johnny M Collins says:

I’ve found quest helper to be the best addon so far

  17. smiley says:

south park addon it says south park comments such as when someone dies `kenny is down`

  18. Sgtblackswor(horde-khadgar) says:

Right guys firstly you need to download WoW matrix(a document full of all the WoW addons).
Then i would go for an addon called ArcHud2 ….
    It is very good
There are tonnes more i use but i love that one the most…

  19. wow-80 says:

    Best are:
    -Atlas
    -Atlasloot enhanced

    -Titan Panel
    -MobMap
    -Omen
    -Ozraid
Some others which I can’t be bothered to state (minor mods)

    Regards wow-80

  20. wow-80 says:

A little tip for wow dummies*

    -Questhelper
    and
    -Tomtom
DO NOT WORK AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!!!!!

    Regards wow-80

The best addon that I use for lvling is carbonite quest, it is more spacific than quest helper and it has a smaller moveable version of the map that you can move to the corner of the screen so you dont have to constantly check your map, try it out. you can download at curse.com

  22. Javone says:

try _NPCSCAN too…from wow matrix…it can search for rare monsters but only high lvl:)..if you are a non-combat pet lover try collectme from curse.com…:)

  23. Lachlan says:

    IM SORRY
“Carbonite” is the best quest helper in the world
you cannot beat it, download it and then you’ll see what i mean,!!!!

  24. just hit 70! says:

I agree, if ur a tank your gonna want Omen Threat Meter. Also, I would not advise using Cartographer or Quest helper. Me and my guildies have had trouble with both of those addons. Instead, use Carbonite Quest. This addon was banned briefly due to the reason that they were making you pay to continue using the addon. The addon is fixed and now they accept donations. Carbonite Quest is like Cartographer and Quest helper in one addon. Plus, it’s easier to undrstand.

  25. Gilliad-71&Terisatryma-61 says:

Here’s some of my favorite addons:
Questhelper (without this addon I’d still be at lvl 20)
X-Perl Unit Frames (beautiful nameplates and raid healthbars)
Move anything! (allows any movement or sizing of UI including action bars, minimap, bags, and just about anything else)
Pawn (easy ability to choose the best items)
    Sexymap (completely customize your minimap)
Arkinventory (puts all your bags into one UI which you can sort into groups, like cloth, for instance)
Cartographer (improved world map with instance maps and many great features)
Depot (very simple bar that goes across the bottom of the screen. Not useful, but looks great)
no more stomp sounds (simply gets rid of the annoying sounds that core hounds make when walking. For hunters)
color health bar (makes your and your targets health fade from green to red as you get hurt. Useless with pitbull or X-Perl
moveable bags (makes your bags click-and-drag-able. useless with Arkinventory or other bag addons)

I have tried many other addons, but these are my favorites

For Mac users that can’t download addons easily, get wowmatrix for most of these addons.

  26. Derek says:

i 100% suggest Carbonite, (Carboniteaddon.com) it is far better than QuestHelper, along with cartographer and AtlasQuest, it is uber easy to level. And if you whisper a lot, get WIM or WoW IM, its fun

By the way, i suggest downloading WoWMatrix, makes it much easier to download addons, u dnt even have to move the files. ( WoWMatrix.com )

  27. Random Dude says:

Here’s a list of some add-ons I use, many are used for raiding.

    • Omen
-A nice tool for maintaining my agro, I know when to hold back a bit and when I can go all-out. I don’t usually over-agro, with the help of Tricks of the Trade I can go crazy from the start of a fight. It’s especially useful for in fights like Malygos, or Hodir where we get a damage increasing buff which could cause overload on threat.

    • Recount
-It’s not very useful. It’s fun to see if you’re topping off the list, but it’s not important. Gives me a nice overview of my attacks hitting, being dodges or miss.

    • Prat
-A useful chat add-on, allows me to copy and paste text and looks better in general.

    • Bartender 4
-Very useful for raiding, gives me much more overview of my surroundings by removing all the unnecessary stuff involved in the standard UI.

    • Miks scrolling battle text
-Not the most useful add-on for my rogue. Keeps the lag away, no annoying damage pop-ups when I go berserk on Fan of Knives.

    • Luckycharms
-An add-on for marking, speeds things up.

    • Ratingbuster
    -Lovely tool for gear comparison.

    • Gatherer
    -Farm, farm, farm.

    • Deadly Boss Mods
-Extremely important for raiding, it’s important to know what’s going to happen well ahead of time.

    • MalygosStacks
-An add-on for Eye or Eternity Phase 3. When I mount the drake a square appears in my screen showing me how many stacks of Engulf in Flames I have on Malygos. The square shows the duration on the DoT and it shows me how many combo points I have.

    • Questhelper
    -Useful for leveling.

    • Atlasloot
-I like to drool over loot.

    • Classtimer
-Helps me to keep up my DoTs and self-buffs.

    • X-Perl
-Raid frames. Also help me to keep my DoTs up on my target.

    • eCastingBar
-X-Perl messes up the target’s cast bar like no other add-on. Therefore I downloaded eCastingBar.

    • CBH Viewport
-Draws a black box on the bottom and top side of my screen, in which I can put some UI things to make them show better. Also, it does not make my actual vision smaller. I still see the same as usual, it’s just a bit more “pushed” together. Makes it look like I’m watching a movie.

For Mac users that can’t download addons easily, get Windows, noobs.

  28. ROJO says:

I LOVE SPARTANUI it is asome but for one thing……its alittle outdated and u need to change a few files to make the minimap go where it sould be….but i figered it out and im kinda bad with computers

  29. Skippy says:

    X-Pearl

    and

Carbonite (awesum addon makes like a google eart type map that helps with questing)

  30. Draiven says:

QUesthelper is by far the best addon, if you like your pets and mounts, i suggest the addon called The Collector, it tells you how many pets and mounts you are missing, and tells you where to get them, and tells you if you need to be exalted or what have you. NPC Scan, is another awsome addon, when your flying around Northrend or outlands, it sounds an alarm when you get into attack distance, great for hunting the rares in the world of warcraft

  31. JtR says:

This is a few of the Addons I use…

    – Carbonite (Best Qst Helper around, Fully Customizable, the availablity to
import nodes and a whole lot more)
    – NPCScan (Detects rare Elites)
    – Baud Bag (Bag customize)
    – Deadly Boss Mods (Countdown timer – Raids, BG’s ect)
    – EquipSetUpdater (Makes updating armor sets a whole lot easier)
    – Extra Bars (Customizable Action bars)
    – FuBar – GuildFu
    – CurrencyFu
    – InstanceInfoFu
    – MailExpiryFu
    – MoneyFu
    – Token
    – WinterGrasperFu
    – Gatherer (Resource Collection Aid)
    – Postal (Awesome Mail Addon)
    – What’s This (E.g /what 22)(Will give you a list of all Area’s, instances for
lvl22) (E.g /what SMV) (Will give you the name in full, lvl
    required ect)

  32. Leonidas says:

I know this is an old post but for all you newbies out there just remember one very important thing, DO NOT DOWNLOAD ADDONS FROM SHADY SITES. You will get hacked, you will loose your shit, you will not get it back. WOWINTERFACE.com, CURSE.COM, and CARBONITEADDON.com are the only three websites that are somewhat gauranteed to be clean and free of those pesky keyloggers and dousch bag hackers that follow. Seriously on another note, I put hackers and virus makers right up there with murderers, and guess what, I don’t give a shit if you agree or not in my OPINION they suck and should all be exterminated one by one. The nerve of some people to desighn something that single handedly ruins everything for thousands of people daily.
