Which Battleground Gives The Most WoW Honor Points?
Posted on May 16, 2007 by ApadweI really do like the WoW battlegrounds system but I can find it really boring sometimes when trying to grind honor points in order to get PvP gear. So my question is which WoW battleground gives the most honor points?
Battlegrounds can be a great way for players to get some good PvP gear and I have noticed it really is a great way for casual players to get some epic items. Like you said it still can be sometimes a pain in the butt to grind out those honor points.
Throughout my experience in the battlegrounds I really have noticed that Alterac Valley gives the most honor points per hour than any other one. Luckily, for me, it is my favorite battleground map as well.
One of the top reasons that AV is the top battleground in terms of most honor points is due to the many ways to get bonus honor. Playing in AV I can usually get around 1200 - 1500 honor points an hour. The next highest battleground is Eye of the Storm which I was only able to pull about 800 - 1000 honor per hour. That probably could have been higher if the Horde won more of the matches.
That brings us to the next great reason for AV is if you win or lose matches it really doesn't affect your honor points per hour. In my battlegroup the Horde usually will lose about 17 of 20 matches but we still can pull around 1200 - 1500 honor an hour.
One side note about this is I am posting data that I have experienced as a single player in battlegrounds, as it can be extremely hard sometimes to get a good premade group together. I'm sure the honor points in the other battlegrounds can be pretty big as well if not bigger than AV if you have a premade PvP group. So, if that would be the case Eye of the Storm maybe the best BG for premade groups.
That's my experience with it but if anyone reading this would like to share their honor points per hour in the different battlegrounds that would be great as it would help everyone out and get a more accurate reading of battlegrounds honor points data.

I agree. But I get about 600-800 honor per game (25-30 min) with the new AV system.

Wow, 17/20 loss. My battle group usually whens 75% of the time (horde). I find AV and AB is the best. Griding AB then switching to AV when it pops.

I agree on the amount of honor points you can get per hour…but the part of the Horde not winning is a lie (lol). To me the Horde wins 7 out of 10 in any BG that I enter. But I still get alot of kills… Im not sure but do you get more points for making kills in BG..or only by winning?

Yes every time you kill or in a close range when someone gets killed you get honor. I think if you kill you get 16 points if you help but does not have killing blow you get 3 honor.
Cool huh !

From reading about this again and again, win/loss depends on your server. Some servers have better players??? I don't know, but I've read it all over.
I play in the 51-60 bracket (FOR THE HORDE) and almost only play av. We win 70%-80% of the time. I average 1200-1500 honor per hour as well. Although I've had battlegrounds reap me 2000honor inside of an hour. I'm a resto shammy so I'm always right in the mix (gaining honorable kills) and I hit what comes close to me. Further, I average around 200k+ in healz per bg. This also brings me honor like damage would dps. Killing blows??? Not so much, but I do very well. I'm weary to move up a bracket as I've been told we lose alot more often there.
Sorry, I'm long winded,

Agreed!
As a member of the Alliance I find that Alterac Valley is also getting me the average 1200-1500 honor points an hour. Sometimes more, close to 2000. I am however finding that AV is the best place for the Alliance to get a win and the extra marks as well. Winning about 70%-80% of the matches since 2.4 came out. I'm finding it very hard and frustrating to get honor and marks in WG, EOTS, and AB as a member of the Alliance.

Killing blows, total kills, heals, damages, flags captured/defended … these events do not get you (the individual player) any honor points. Being in close proximity of a Honorable Kill does (ie "HK: Private"), regardless of whether you killed the enemy player single handedly or if you didn't lift a finger to help (report those AFKers!). If the kill happened in/near a group of 10 or your teammates, you get 1/2 the honor points you would if the kill happened in/near a group of 5 of your teammates, and so forth.
In WSG your team gets bonus honor points (in addition to your individual honor points) based on how many flags your team caps, ie everyone on your team gets the same # of bonus honor points. In AB, your team gets bonus honor based on how many resources your team collects. A lot of different events (towers and mines captured, enemy generals killed etc) get your team bonus honor in AV. In EotS the # of towers held and # of flags captured all contribute to more honor for your team.
I'm a proud Horde on Mok'Nathal US, which is a part of the Emberstorm Battlegroup. The Horde wins 75% of the times in all BGs except the WSG 10-19 bracket and the AV 51-60 bracket; the odds in those are 30/70 in the Alli's favor. The top AV bracket where the 70s roam is rumored to be 50/50. I've just graduated to that bracket so I'll find out firsthand soon.
Thanks for sharing your numbers for the best BG to farm honor points. AV can be really overwhelming for a new player but once you get the hang of it, it is definitely the most rewarding.

thats not the best for av, in about 3 hours this morning I have grinded out roughly 7000 honor. I play allince and we win 90% of our games which as you know gives bonus honor (about 500) so if you alli, your lucky

What level and server are you guys on? I played 9 rounds last night (which I think was about 6 hours because of the ~12 minute wait time between matches) and got a total of 1100 *total* honor points. I was at the top of my level range (49), with a pretty hard hitting Pally. Either you guys are wearing 3 epics and at the top of the list every time (which means of course that your "results are not typical"), or adding a zero on the end of your honor points per hour.

The almighty Honorgrinder.... or something... @ 4:11 pm:
Well, im grinding for Merciless Gladiators spellblade, doing alot of Eots, for marks, but in 2 hours or so (5 runs i think), i had 4600 honor! thats a pretty nice Honor/Hour. Horde wins about 7-8/10, and when i run for honor, i always try to take the flag, each time you bring the flag to a base, you get a nice 75 honor bonus. Doing this 10 times each Eots do not only give you 750 bonus honor, but do also secure that yuo win, even just a 100 Victory points can be nice, as they (well, not really, but you might get the thought) gives you 200 victory points (if you got 2 bases). +100 on yours, and your enemy wont get a +100. I did a single WSG too, while waiting, wich, gave me close to nothing honor. So, for honor as horde in Cyclone battlegroup, do the funky Eots!

What server are you guys on cause i'm on baelgun and usualy win about 85% of the time. Alliance often boycott av because of it.
Leanitis @ 2:41 pm:
it's like you're in an alternate reality. Aliance 95% LMAO. I'd cry if that were true in my realm.

Braemar @ 9:01 am:
Nightfall battlegroup; Alterac Valley, 61-70.
Alliance dominated. The only time the horde wins is when every 61-70 alliance noob ends up on the same instance. Although we've still pulled through after that one happening before. Unfortunately on nightfall thats where ALL of the alliance bg vets are… So we get pwned at almost everything else. Except eots where its about 45% alliance 55% horde.

I should have been alliance. Of every 9 of 10 games the hords loose doesn't matter wich battleground I choose. What really pisses me off you will allways get people that sit some where and not even play. So they can get there stupid 1 token for loosing.
P.S is there away to boot out the retards that can't play.
