Am I Allowed To Have More Than One World of Warcraft Account?

Posted on June 14, 2007 by Apadwe

I have been playing World of Warcraft for awhile now and I really want to play Horde on this server but I don't want to delete all my hard work on my Alliance character. Am I allowed to have another WoW account so I won't have to delete my characters?

I don't blame you one bit for not wanting to kiss all the time you put into your character goodbye. The good news is you can have more than one WoW account. I asked a GM in-game and they said it wasn't against their Terms of Service (TOS) or the End User License Agreement. Before you create a new account you will want to see if you are on a PvE server and if you have enough character slots open to create a new account.

If you are playing on a PvE server and you have enough room to create another character you can have an Alliance character as well as a Horde character on the same account. That really can come in handy and will probably help you get a total feeling of what it is like to play World of Warcraft.

On the other hand, if you don't have enough room to create a new character on your PvE server or if you play on a PvP server you will have to get a new account in order to play the other faction.

The only downside to having another account is of course paying another $15 a month to play but if you are a hardcore player I guess it really doesn't matter as $30 a month for entertainment is still a LOT cheaper than dinner and a movie!

You can also play on a different continent's realms, if you buy the game from an online retailer. I live in the US and play on US servers, but I was able to buy WoW Europe online and now I play on an EU server also. I was also able to use my US credit card to pay for the EU monthly fee, but you can also buy EU time-cards online.

Just create another acount, you can have 7 characters or so on each realm, so.. you can have A LOT of characters.

Um you can play on any server and any faction you want, and you can have character PER REALM per account. I have only created on character on a PvP server but I did not get any messages that said "You have choosen:Horde. Warning: If you proceed with your character creation you will not be able to make an Alliance character on this realm." Note I said I did NOT get that message. So I don't know what you people are talking about, and it's 10 characters per realm not 8. Most likely he has created 10 characters already and does not want to play on a realm besides this one because he has friends there… although in most cases it may nbd because your friends won't be playing the same characters anyway if they do have Horde chars, and if it's about experience, the Horde and Alliance sides can be very different, I know they are on Tanaris because the 9 year olds all want to be "good" guys even though neither side is evil only certain races are evil (like the Undead but the playable Undead are evil), and so everyone on Tanaris Alliance is either rude or an idiot, but on the Horde side people are nicer.

Of course there are exceptions and some people may have a reason to need to stay on the same server anyway, I do.

In a PvP realm you can only play on 1 faction. Note: I said "in a PvP realm you can only play on 1 faction".

Undead FTW
