Hey, just wanted to reply to the guy above.

For Vista users, it's actually
C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns

It's basically the same, but you need to have the \ instead of the /. It's a simple change, and yet it caused confusion when I tried it (The process of getting WoW and Addons onto new Vista is a real headache.)

Hope this helps avoid any confusion! :)

Figured out my problem. Its vista. Vista = epic fail.
For vista users you need to unzip your addons to: C:/Users/Public/Games/World of Warcraft/Interface/Addons

Hope that helps. :8D

I know how to DL and unzip addons, I use many addons successfully now. However, recently none of the new addons I have installed will show up in my addons window in wow. I have verified that the folders are in the addon directory with all my other working addons like they are suppose to be. I have tried three different addons and have had the same results with all three. I use vista if that means anything, and I have downloaded all my addons from curse.com.

Please help if you can. :8(

If you don't see the Addon button in the Character selection screen and you have extracted the zip files into the addon folder, doublecheck the folder of the extracted addon. What most likely happened is the addon folder was created and another addon folder with the same name was created in that folder with the needed files.
