What Is The Best Way To Make Gold For My First WoW Mount?

I’m still a fairly new player for World of Warcraft and i’m close to getting a WoW mount when I turn 40. The only thing that is holding me back is the fact that I don’t have enough gold in order to purchase my first mount when I hit 40. It seems like all my new spells are taking all my gold. What is the best way for me to make gold for my first level 40 mount?

There are several different ways that you can earn money quickly for your first WoW level 40 mount. One of the most effective ways of earning the money for your first mount is by learning and playing the auction house.

One of the fastest ways to earn gold to purchase your first mount is to pick up a gathering skill and make several “mat” (materials that you use for crafting) runs. Skinning, herbalism, mining, and even disenchanting are all great money makers and you will find that these are all professions that will always make money. When you are trying to earn the money for your mount, make as many “mat” runs as you can during the week, saving up the mats until you have complete stacks of the different mats. The higher you get in your gathering skill, the better mats you will be able to pick up and sell on the auction house for higher profits. On Friday evenings, list all your mats on the auction house and then head out for another “mat” run. You will find that it won’t take any time at all and all your mats will sell over the weekend to those players that don’t have the time to make “mat” runs during the week or are power leveling their professions.

For those players who are a higher level, such as 35-40, and have a high level skill in their profession, make blue items or green items that offer good perks, such as adding different resistances. These will always sell well on the auction house, so you can always make money this way by using your professions as well.

The next fastest way to earn gold for your first mount is to run several instances with some good groups during the week. Pick up greens and blues that you can sell on the auction house, along with some other white items that different professions use for mats. Save up all your items, by sending them to a “banker” toon (a low level alt that you use simply for sending items to hold and place on the auction house so you don’t have to run back to a major city each day), and then on Friday evenings, place them all on the auction house at one time.

Depending on the items that you list, you can make anywhere from 1 – 100 gold (or more) per weekend.

And, then, there is the good ‘ole fashion grind. There are tons of “squishy” mobs around the game that are easy to kill and carry money along with other goods that you can sell on the auction house as well. So, if you just feel like killing some mobs, this might be the way to go for you. But, you will not earn as much gold as you will playing the auction house. Be sure that when you choose mobs to grind that you find ones that drop money as well as other goods, such as cloth or other mats.

Thank you for this information because i hit 40 with 40g and i bought all my abilities whice put me down to 4g so i was kinda bummed because i had to bu pet abilities also . There is also another way. with mining copper bars usualy sell for me then copper ore. so like others say buy the ore make it into bars then sell bars for higher price. it is best to start off at about 8g so that u can buy quite a number of ore but that is how i did it. i bought 12 stacks of copper ore then made it into bars and got about another extra 5 gold out of it and because of that i was able to buy more copper ore.

    Making money for first mount:

Easiest way to make money in the game has to be gathering proficiencies.

Choose 2 you like and start skinning/Enchanting/Herbing or whatever.

I have found enchanting/herb to be the absolute most profitable of all. Mining is good as well, so dependant on what character you play choose gathering herbs. These will sell nicely on AH (auction House). Enchanting will keep being profitable through the game since you can disenchant all items you exchange for better gear and the different materials only gets worth more and more.

If you´re more of a grind person I suggest elementals in Badlands. They´re good xp and drop decent sell loot. Can also drop materials for Sharpening stones.

And most important of all. DO not spend your money on any Auction house items unless you absolutely have to (quest items etc). As well as it can be a money maker for you it can also devour your entire life savings, and quite easy as well :) .

Accept the gear you can get from quests/instances and don´t go for BoE gear.

Lvl as fast you can and the BoE lvl 35 epics on AH will suddenly not seem so interesting.

Good luck on your mount :)
